At CosMedocs, We Don't Use Anything But The Best

directly replicating the body's own tissue so flawlessly that no third person will ever know the truth!

Cheeks
Cheeks begin to lose their natural volume as we age, leading to a tired, haggard or sad appearance. This also contributes to and is largely responsible for the dark circle appearance of the under-eye area. The smile lines, also known as “crow’s feet” often extend out onto the cheek. The area between the nose and the corner of the mouth, or nasolabial fold, can be deep, and may even extend under the corner of the mouth, leading to a “parentheses” look. Fortunately, at cosmedocs most of these undesired contributors of age can be safely reversed by one treatment or a combination of a few quick ones.

The abundance of collagen, elastin, and fat the skin has in youth accounts for the flawless smooth look that begins to fade in adulthood. Environmental factors, some controllable, others not (sun exposure , poor diet, smoking, and exaggerated muscle movement), accelerate the process that genetics have set in motion. We now see that static wrinkles are a matter of the skin losing these youthful elements, and this can be remedied with new advanced products such as non-animal based hyaluronic acid fillers.

Many of the dermal fillers we use to treat wrinkles are bio-stimulants of the body's own collagen. Dermal fillers we use consist of hyaluronic acid (non-animal based) which is a substance naturally present in living cells. Filler are injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle and have a lasting result of up to 9-12 months and even longer after subsequent treatments. Hyaluronic acid can be used as a wrinkle filler, fold filler, cheek filler or for even lip augmentation. It supersedes in safety the older collagen (animal in origin) and silicon fillers now used less often.

Botox Injections can be combined with dermal fillers and resurfacing techniques to optimise and enhance results. Your doctor will discuss the best option for you depending on your type of skin wrinkles.

Results can be seen immediately and treatment with fillers is safe, fast and leaves no permanent scars or other traces on the face. Fillers add natural volume in your skin to lift and produce new firmness resulting in a healthy & vital appearance.

Wrinkles and folds which can develop in the chin area are easily remedied. Beginning with the lines extending downward from the corners of the mouth (puppet or Marionette lines) to the hollowing around the chin known as the pre-jowl sulcus, correction can be dramatic but subtle with properly placed dermal fillers. We can also help the chin look less prominent ("witch chin") and reduce lines and the orange peel (peau d'orange) look with a small amount of Botox strategically placed. This problem is also helped with Fraxel, but like the forehead, may respond less to laser resurfacing than other areas of the face, due to the muscular component. The area immediately under the chin (the submentum, can be best be treated with Thermage (for tightening only), or laser liposuction (Smartlipo), for reducing and tightening.

FAQs
  1. What are fillers?
    1. Fillers are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalise the skin using a gel based on stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that naturally exists in your body. The gel is injected into the skin.

  2. What is hyaluronic acid?
    1. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms. It binds water and can act as a lubricant and shock absorber in movable parts of the body such as joints. It is also important for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in skin.

  3. What are the benefits of Dermal Fillers?
    1. A treatment with Dermal Fillers provides an easy way to enhance your looks. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and lasts around one year. With CosMedocs dermal fillers you will achieve a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. Remember your face changes over time, and fillers allows you to control you looks subtly as you age.

  4. What areas can be treated?
    1. Restylane and Teosyal products can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin.

    2. The most common areas treated are:
      • Nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds)
      • between the eyebrows (the glabella lines)

  5. How do fillers work?
    1. By boosting the skin's supply of hyaluronic acid, Restylane and Teosyal revitalise and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer look. Restylane and Teosyal are soft injectable gels consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

  6. What does Restylane treatment involve?
    1. Before
After the consultation, and if you are happy to proceed, your practitioner will help you complete a medical history form and you will need to sign a consent form before treatment can progress.

      During
Restylane is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips

The treatment is quick, typically taking about 15-30 minutes. Treatment with Restylane or Teosyal do not affect facial expression and the benefits can normally be seen instantly.

      After
CosMedocs offer Restylane and Teosyal products which are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6-12 months after your initial filler treatment. Discuss with your practitioner when a follow-up appointment may be appropriate.

After a treatment some reactions might occur, these include; are slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but for some treatments they may last longer.

  7. How long do filler treatments last?
    1. One of the great advantages of Restylane and Teosyal is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual's skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. A treatment of the lips lasts about 6 months.

  8. Can everybody use fillers?
    1. Most people can benefit from HA Filler treatment. If you wish to;

      • reduce lines and wrinkles
      • create more defined or fuller lips,
      • define the contours of your face, such as chin or cheek,
      • boost your skin's vitality, for a healthier more hydrated skin tone (e.g. face, hands, neck or décolletage)

Filler should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems. Restylane and Teosyal have not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women, Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body's immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure.

During your pre-treatment consultation, you should thoroughly discuss your medical history with your physician.

  9. Do filler treatments need pain relief?
    1. Generally, pain relief is not necessary when injecting into the skin to correct lines and wrinkles.

Some people may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area for a more comfortable treatment experience.

The lips are a highly sensitive part of the body and, therefore, anaesthesia is usually recommended before lip enhancement. This is achieved most effectively by using a dental block or local anaesthetic.

  10. Do I need to take a skin test?
    1. No skin test is required as Hyaluronic filler does not contain any animal-derived ingredients.

  11. Do I need to take a skin test?
    1. If you have recently had a laser or chemical peel treatment, it is recommended you wait until the area is totally healed and the skin is back to its normal condition. Consult your practitioner.
